The Tripura elections were contested by the BJP, the Left-Congress alliance, and the Tipra Motha party.Web Desk of India Today: The counting of votes for the Tripura Assembly elections began on Thursday at 8 a.m. The 60-member Assembly was represented by 259 candidates from various political parties. The election was a high-voltage three-cornered battle between the ruling BJP, the Left-Cong alliance, and the Tipra Motha.
The BJP ran candidates for 55 seats, while its ally IPFT ran candidates for six. The CPI(M) ran in 47 seats, while its alliance partner Congress ran in 13 seats. Tipra Motha ran for 42 seats. The Trinamool Congress has nominated candidates in 28 constituencies, and there are 58 independent candidates.
According to exit polls, the BJP will likely win 36 to 45 seats, the Tipra Mothra will likely win 9 to 16 seats, and the Left-Congress coalition will likely win 6 to 11 seats.
