Teacher’s day Story: The teacher came to teach regularly even after four years of retirement in Purba Medinipur

Tripti Bakshi, 64, a resident of Barkhoshkhana, Shahid Matangini Block, Tamluk, who is still a student after retirement.

As the saying goes, study is like an addiction; imparting knowledge is a different intention. It is the important responsibility of parents and school teachers to see that the future of this society is not affected in any way due to the progress of the current social situation. That’s why such pictures in schools may have remained behind the light, avoiding everyone’s attention.

The word “retirement” is nowhere in her dictionary. That is why 64-year-old Tripti Bakshi, a resident of Barkhoshkhana in the Shahid Matangini block of Tamluk, is still in education after official retirement. She was the head teacher of the local Khostikari Primary School. She retired from there in 2018. As per government norms and due to her age, she is the former headmistress of the school. Her genius’s retirement could last until the end of her life.

But still, she is still a teacher at that school. Because of this belief, they accepted the farewell reception but promised that even after retirement, they would come to the school with the students. Like talk, action. Right after that, Triptidevi came to school regularly till now. She said, “I don’t want to sit back at home. Teaching is like an addiction. I like being with students. If my body is healthy, I will come to school regularly like this.

She reached school by 10:30 a.m. every day. Then take classes all day and go back home in the afternoon. Even today, there is no change to that rule. There are now five teachers in the school after Triptidevi. The school educates students from kindergarten to fifth grade.Students said that even after retirement, she had no laxity in teaching. Sudip Manna, Tamal Maiti, and students Sudipta Bakshi and Sudipa Patra said, “Grandmother loves us very much. She playfully teaches us. For us, understanding is not a challenge.”

Despite the fact that school officials wanted to pay Triptidevi an honorarium for teaching at the school after she retired, she refused. The school authorities accepted it with respect and love. Abivahita Triptidevi has a younger sister and a brother. They all encouraged her to come to school. Wish you all happy teacher’s day 2022.
